PROTEST THE HERO’S FORTRESS OUT TODAY
“PTH are phenomenally talented, intense, and heady – this is a record that requires repeated listens.” 8/10 – DECIBEL
“Protest The Hero can shred like nobody’s business.”
4/5 - ALTERNATIVE PRESS
“…like Metallica and Iron Maiden before them, they're less interested in showing off than they are in squeezing their instrumental virtuosity and structural complexity into songs that move at the speed of pop. Imagine Muse for metalheads.” 4.5/5 - REVOLVER

January 29, 2008 - PROTEST THE HERO release their sophomore Vagrant disc, Fortress, today and the five-piece from Whitby, Ontario is poised to be one of 2008’s breakthrough metal acts. Fortress is currently streaming in its entirety on MySpace, resulting in PTH ranking as the #6 most popular indie band on MySpace (and #1 in Canada).
Fortress is armed to the teeth with Protest The Hero’s signature riffs, dizzying fret-runs, and acrobatic vocals, showcased in three movements and largely inspired by Flidais, an Irish goddess of the forest. MTV News says, “The songs (on Fortress) are rhythmically complex, technically proficient, fiercely metallic and strikingly melodic, sounding a bit like a hybrid of Coheed and Cambria, Slayer and the Dillinger Escape Plan.“
The band recently began their North American tour and their first date in the U.S. is February 21st in Worcester, MA. See current dates below. Also, check out www.enterthefortress.com, where you can make lead singer Rody Walker do your bidding, including; slay a dragon, mime in a box, duel, and more.
Protest The Hero is: Rody Walker (lead vocals), Tim Millar (guitar, vocals), Luke Hoskin (lead guitar, vocals, piano), Moe Carlson (drums), and Arif Mirabdolbaghi (bass, vocals).
