MURDER BY DEATH ANNOUNCE HEADLINING TOUR

Red Of Tooth And Claw Out March 4th

February 15, 2008 – MURDER BY DEATH today announce the first leg of a national headlining tour that begins in their hometown of Bloomington, IN on March 27th. The quartet hits the road next week opening for Clutch and will be releasing their Vagrant full-length, Red of Tooth and Claw on March 4, 2008.

Red Of Tooth And Claw finds Murder By Death at the height of their powers. Recorded with Grammy-winning producer Trina Shoemaker (Queens Of The Stone Age, Emmylou Harris, Iggy Pop) at Dark Horse studios in Tennessee, the album captures the drama and nuance of MBD’s sound without compromising a lick of the band’s energy. And as longtime followers of their narrative grit—equal parts Old West drama and Old Testament justice—will be glad to know, MBD’s subject matter also hasn’t softened for album No. 4. Rife with lust, betrayal, and classical archetypes of good and evil, Red Of Tooth And Claw is, as singer/guitarist Adam Turla puts it, a “Homer’s Odyssey of revenge, only without the honorable character at the center.”

MBD’s Fuego! EP was released earlier this week through all digital providers and includes the title track along with a live version of “My Baby Shot Me Down” and an extended version of “Theme (for Ennio Morricone).”

Murder By Death is: Turla, Sarah Balliet (cello, keys), Matt Armstrong (bass), and drummer Dagan Thogerson.

PROTEST THE HERO BREAKING IN NORTH AMERICA!

FORTRESS DEBUTS AT #1 IN CANADA, #95 ON THE BILLBOARD 200 AND #10 ON TOP INDEPENDENT U.S. CHARTS

February 6, 2008 –FORTRESS, the sophomore Vagrant release from PROTEST THE HERO, has debuted at #95 on The Billboard 200 chart with over 7600 units sold. Fortress also debuted at #10 on the Billboard Top Independent chart and delivered a stunning #1 debut in the band’s home country of Canada.

Protest The Hero also just confirmed an appearance at Bamboozle Left, taking place in Irvine, CA on Sunday, April 6th. The band is currently in the midst of their North American tour with Silverstein (see dates below).

“Bloodmeat,” the first track and video from Fortress, is currently getting video play on MTV’s Headbangers Ball, and airplay at metal radio.

The press is raving about Protest The Hero and Fortress, with Revolver saying, “…like Metallica and Iron Maiden before them, they're less interested in showing off than they are in squeezing their instrumental virtuosity and structural complexity into songs that move at the speed of pop. Imagine Muse for metalheads,” and Decibel adding that “PTH are phenomenally talented, intense, and heady.” MTV News sums up, “The songs (on Fortress) are rhythmically complex, technically proficient, fiercely metallic and strikingly melodic, sounding a bit like a hybrid of Coheed and Cambria, Slayer and the Dillinger Escape Plan.“

Protest The Hero is: Rody Walker (lead vocals), Luke Hoskin (lead guitar, vocals, piano), Tim Millar (guitar, vocals), Moe Carlson (drums), and Arif Mirabdolbaghi (bass, vocals).

More from the press on Fortress:

“Divided into three suites, the album's 10 tracks shift from dizzying guitar runs ("Bone Marrow") to synthesized orchestral swells to 900-mph meter changes that make The Dillinger Escape Plan sound lazy.” - A, THE ONION

“Let’s just say PTH guitarists Tim Millar and Luke Hoskin deserve an entire “Guitar Hero” devoted to them alone.” – METROMIX

“Post-prog, shred-tastic, metal and hardcore-influenced amazingness. One of the most important records of 2008 so far. “ – METALSUCKS.NET
