James Vincent McMorrow Adds Second L.A. Date To U.S. Tour

By Amy

(August 8, 2011) – Dubliner James Vincent McMorrow will soon be embarking on his very first North American headline tour that kicks off on September 8 at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and due to popular demand now ends in Los Angeles, California with a two-night stand at the Bootleg Theater on September 24 and 25.

James has been touring non-stop this year in support of his critically acclaimed debut album, Early In The Morning (1/11, Vagrant), which reached #1 in Ireland and has brought him to the US this spring for several appearances at SXSW and invitations to support Civil Wars, Bell X1 and The Rural Alberta Advantage.

James’ latest single, “Sparrow and the Wolf” is gaining radio airplay across the US and fans can check out a recent acoustic performance of the song, filmed recently by Last.fm, here: http://lastfmdiscover.radio.com/2011/08/05/last-fm-discover-james-vincent-mcmorrow/

Last week, James’ Daytrotter session became available for free download: http://www.daytrotter.com/dt/james-vincent-mcmorrow-concert/20054831-3738416.html

Although James’ most recent US dates found him standing alone on stage with just his guitar, this fall headline tour will feature his five-piece backing band.   He’s earning rave reviews for his live performances this summer from the international press:

It was impossible not to be bewitched” – The Times

Beguiling…the mellifluous poetry of ‘If I Had A Boat’ stands out as a particular highlight” – NME

McMorrow appears completely at ease…He will be unstoppable” – Guardian

He can do hushed and melancholic and he can do multi-layered sing-alongs…stunning” – The Fly

A triumph…The Irishman’s devoted following can only get bigger” – Evening Standard
