Protest The Hero vinyl released, back on tour

PROTEST THE HERO BACK ON THE ROAD

Fortress Released On Limited Edition Colored Vinyl

Fortress Remains Highest Rated Album on MetaCritic.com

April 1, 2008 – PROTEST THE HERO begins their latest North American tour today in Columbia, MO. The band also announces the release of their sophomore Vagrant album, Fortress, on limited edition colored vinyl. Chain stores will be offering black vinyl while independent retailers will stock a selection of black, purple and clear vinyl. White vinyl will be exclusively available at Hot Topic stores.

Protest The Hero released Fortress, on 1/29/08 and the disc currently has the highest rating (90) on MetaCritic.com – a score significantly above current press darlings Bon Iver, The Raconteurs, Vampire Weekend, and F*ck Buttons.

When the band’s current tour with Chiodos wraps up, the Whitby, Ontario five-piece will be touring in Europe and Japan before coming back to the U.S. for the entire Vans Warped Tour ’08. For info on pre-sale tickets still available in certain markets, click here: http://www.warpedtourtickets.musictoday.com/WarpedTour/calendar.aspx

The press is raving about Protest The Hero and Fortress, with Revolver saying, “…like Metallica and Iron Maiden before them, they’re less interested in showing off than they are in squeezing their instrumental virtuosity and structural complexity into songs that move at the speed of pop. Imagine Muse for metalheads,” and Decibel adding that “PTH are phenomenally talented, intense, and heady.” MTV News sums up, “The songs (on Fortress) are rhythmically complex, technically proficient, fiercely metallic and strikingly melodic, sounding a bit like a hybrid of Coheed and Cambria, Slayer and the Dillinger Escape Plan.“

Protest The Hero is: Rody Walker (lead vocals), Luke Hoskin (lead guitar, vocals, piano), Tim Millar (guitar, vocals), Moe Carlson (drums), and Arif Mirabdolbaghi (bass, vocals).
