The chart-topping and Platinum-selling artist also known as Dallas Green will be performing at Canada’s Juno Awards ceremony where City and Colour was nominated for four awards including JUNO Fan Choice (vote here: http://ow.ly/8Yv9e), Artist of the Year, Single of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

(February 7, 2012) – The Jesus and Mary Chain have confirmed four dates in the US this March including an appearance at SXSW in Austin, Texas. This will be the first time since 2008 that the band has performed in North America.

After playing their last gig in 1998 and breaking up in 1999, The Jesus & Mary Chain reunited in 2007 for a handful of high-profile club and festival dates in the US and Europe which began with a triumphant main stage performance in front of an estimated 10,000 fans at Coachella.

Early Mary Chain gigs were a maelstrom of brilliance, violence and unbelievable arrogance. The band could hardly play, which hardly mattered, as the gigs never lasted more than fifteen minutes. Later gigs saw them as a great live band – still unpredictable, but able to play properly as well – if they felt like it. Then they got bored. Jim and William Reid – never the closest of siblings, decided they hated each other, had a massive punch-up before a paying audience then took early retirement to spend more time with their alcohol and television sets.

The revitalized Jesus And Mary Chain are then something of a miracle – a perfect combination of their earliest incendiary nihilism, and their later musical perfection. Underpinning the Reid brothers’ three-chord assault on these 2012 dates will be (sometimes drummer and guitarist from Pyschocandy line up) John Moore on guitar, Phil King on bass and a drummer to be announced.

(February 6, 2012) – CITY AND COLOUR announces a string of southeastern US tour dates beginning May 30 in Baltimore, Maryland. The dates follow City and Colour’s successful winter 2011 US tour.

New Album Hotel Sessions Due February 2012

October 20, 2011 – THE LEMONHEADS announce an additional 50 U.S. tour dates in early 2012. The Evan Dando-led three piece will be performing their classic 1992 album, IT’S A SHAME ABOUT RAY, from beginning to end.  Joining Dando on this tour will be guitarist Josh Lattanzi  (The Candles) and drummer Brian Nolan (American Hi-Fi).

It’s A Shame About Ray was released in 1992 and was The Lemonheads’ second album for Atlantic Records. The album featured the trio – Evan Dando (guitar, vocals), David Ryan (drums) and Juliana Hatfield (bass, backing vocals) – breezing through 12 songs in just under 30 minutes, including the title track, “My Drug Buddy,” “The Turnpike Down” and the cultural touchstone, “Alison’s Starting To Happen.”

On February 7, 2012, The Lemonheads will release Hotel Sessions on Hall of Records/Breath of Saltwater – an intimate recording documenting a Sunday night that Evan Dando spent recording new songs with just an acoustic guitar (and some revealing commentary) in a hotel room in Bondi Beach, Australia. The 14 songs include some that never made it to an official Lemonheads album, but Dando says, “the “Into Your Arms” I did here is better than the one on the album (I like it anyway).”

The past year has seen Evan Dando performing sold-out acoustic dates in the US with former band-mate Juliana Hatfield as well as performing both solo and band dates in the UK, Australia, and Europe.

New York’s The Shining Twins will support The Lemonheads on the upcoming 2012 dates and will also be releasing an EP, Cum Play With Us, on February 7 via Hall of Records/Breath of Saltwater.

Tickets from the Lemonheads canceled October 5 date in Atlanta (due to Dando’s bout with pharyngitis early on in the tour) will be honored at the February 27 show – also at The Earl.

(October 4, 2011) – After a successful spring tour of the US and Canada, Protest The Hero will return to the US for a three week headline tour November 28 to December 22. Along with Protest The Hero, the 20 shows will feature Prosthetic recording artists Scale The Summit and Last Chance To Reason. In addition, promoters will be adding a local band to each show.

Scurrilous is Protest The Hero’s third full-length and was released to critical acclaim in March (Vagrant/Underground Operations).  The five-piece spent the summer on a full European tour following their spring US/ Canada tour. The band will return for a second European tour in February/March 2012.

Green – who has won Juno’s (Canadian Grammy’s) for ALTERNATIVE ALBUM OF THE YEAR (2007), SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR (2009) – has enjoyed incredible success around the globe – his City and Colour show at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall this past April sold out in mere hours.

City and Colour has spent most of 2011 performing at festivals including SXSW, Coachella, Sasquatch, Glastonbury Festival, Lollapalooza, and will be making appearances at Austin City Limits and the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans before the US tour begins.

Released in February, Let England Shake is the fastest selling record of Harvey’s career and features long-standing collaborators Flood, John Parish, Mick Harvey and Jean-Marc Butty. On release, Let England Shake received 10 out of 10 in the NME, who commented, “…this deathly sombre but sweetly sung anti war record might just be Polly’s most affecting and impressive work so far.”

Let England Shake is PJ Harvey’s eighth studio album and was recently nominated for the 2011 Mercury Music Prize. This is Harvey’s fourth nomination; she was previously nominated for Rid of Me in 1993 and To Bring You My Love in 1995, and in 2001 she won the award with Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea. She accepted the award from her hotel room in Washington, DC on September 11, 2001.

This latest nomination also marks 10 years since Harvey became the first female to win the Mercury prize and Harvey now stands alongside Radiohead as the most nominated artist in the prize’s history. The Awards take place today, Tuesday, September 6, 2011.

(September 6, 2011) – Today is the day! Atlanta, Georgia-based psychedelic hard rock band MonstrO releases their self-titled debut on Vagrant Records.

MonstrO – guitarist Juan Montoya, bassist Kyle Sanders, drummer Bevan Davies and vocalist and guitarist Charlie Suarez – recorded their debut with Alice in Chains vocalist William DuVall in the producer’s seat.

Fans can catch MonstrO live on tour this fall when they support Kyuss Lives! and The Sword on one of the most highly anticipated rock tours of the season. The tour begins in Toronto, Ontario on September 16 and includes stops in major cities across the U.S. before wrapping up in Pomona, California at the Fox Theater on October 8.
