THE DEBUT ALBUM FROM WARSHIP - SUPPLY & DEPEND - OUT TODAY

LATE FALL TOUR ANNOUNCED, LIMITED EDITION POSTER DETAILS

“…one huge, ugly, lumbering ogre of a record that is so satisfyingly heavy, it’s the kind of aural pummeling you’ll want to repeatedly endure.” – Alternative Press, Dec. ‘08

(November 4, 2008) - WARSHIP, the new band featuring Francis Mark (vocals, drums) and Rob Lauritsen (guitar, bass) of From Autumn To Ashes, today release their debut album, Supply & Depend. The New York City-based duo also announces their upcoming tour with Fall of Troy and The Number Twelve Looks Like You (see dates below).

Supply & Depend was produced Andrew Schneider (Made Out Of Babies, Cave In, Pelican, Unsane) and has a sound “somewhat akin to bare-knuckle street brawl between Saint Vitus, Snapcase and High On Fire.”

“I don’t think a lot of people were expecting this. When I said I was starting a new band, people thought I was going to go in a more mellow direction,” says Mark. “It’s definitely a lot more blown-out, and raw, and with more driving rhythms and ugliness than we ever did with FATA.”

The first 200 fans that buy the CD online through the Vagrant /Warship webstore for $10 (http://www.merchlackey.com/vagrant/index.php?page=488) will receive a free limited edition hand-numbered poster designed by Francis Mark (and signed by both Fran and Rob).

The band’s name holds special meaning—a play on the word “worship,” the moniker serves as a reminder of the destructive power of religion, which has often been wielded for less-than-glorious ambitions under the auspices of benevolence.

WARSHIP TO RELEASE SUPPLY AND DEPEND NOVEMBER 4

September 3, 2008 – WARSHIP announces a November 4, 2008 release date for their debut disc, Supply and Depend (Vagrant). The New York-based duo of Francis Mark (vocals, drums) and Rob Lauritsen (guitar, bass) wrote the 10 tracks featured on Supply and Depend earlier this year and recorded with producer Andrew Schneider (Pelican, Made Out Of Babies) over the summer.

“Even though Rob and I were in a band together for the past 3 years this is the first time we got to write together and it was explosive,” says Mark. “Things came together so quickly. It was like Rob had a vault of riffs he was waiting to open. I don't know what the future holds for us but I sure am enjoying myself right now and I am grateful to be able to share these songs with people. “

“Toil,” the lead track from Supply and Depend, is now streaming on www.myspace.com/mywarship and the album cover art by artist Brad Bacon has been posted there, as well.

Warship is unveiling their music live in front of fans on the current farewell tour of labelmates Reggie & The Full Effect (see all dates below). The current live lineup for Warship also features Darren Simoes of The Bled on bass.

INTRODUCING WARSHIP

New Band Features Members of From Autumn To Ashes

Debut Album Due Fall 2008

First Track “Toil” On MySpace Now

(June 9, 2008) – WARSHIP, the new band featuring Francis Mark (vocals, drums) and Rob Lauritsen (guitar, bass) of From Autumn To Ashes, is currently in a New York studio recording their debut release with producer Andrew Schneider (Made Out Of Babies, Cave In, Pelican, Unsane). The as-yet-untitled disc is due out on Vagrant later this fall.

Fans can hear a brand new track, “Toil”, on www.myspace.com/mywarship
The track will also be featured on the Vagrant ’08 Summer Sampler that will be available for free at the Vagrant tent at this summer’s Vans Warped Tour.

“At this point I feel that we have accomplished everything we could have hoped for with FATA,” Fran Mark says in a statement to fans on the band’s MySpace page. “It doesn’t feel much like a break up. Just feels like the end. It’s complete. I would say that we are going on indefinite hiatus because the term breakup suggests a more negative circumstance. There have been no quarrels between band members. It is also not a question of fan support because we are lucky to have some of the most loyal and impassioned friends a band could ask for. Thank you again for the overwhelming support of our last album. I’ve dedicated almost 9 years to FATA and it’s become something of a security for me. I’m looking forward to feeling uncertain and the freedom of starting a new band that has no definition. We don’t have any expectations or specific goals with Warship. We just want to play loud, have fun and share some positive music with our friends.“

“The name Warship comes from a time last year when I was making worship candles (the tall, skinny glass jar candles you get in Brooklyn dollar stores and bodegas),” continues Mark. “They have paintings of saints on one side and a prayer on the opposite. I was buying blank candles and doing my own paintings on them. A friend asked me on a phone call what had I been up to and when I said “making worship candles”, she thought that I meant candles with actual warships on them. This led me to thinking about the relationship between the two. How discouraging it is when ‘worship’ begets ‘warships’. “

Late summer touring plans for Warship will be announced shortly.

From Autumn To Ashes most recent release, Live At Looney Tunes, will be released Tuesday, June 17th.
