FRENCH KICKS ANNOUNCE COVERS EP
DUE OUT SEPTEMBER 23

(September 10, 2008) – New York City’s FRENCH KICKS announce the release of a 4 song EP of cover tunes, aptly titled Covers EP. The EP will be available through all digital retailers on September 23 from Vagrant.

“We've always loved the Beach Boys’ Party! record where the Beach Boys went into a studio room with some friends and played really loose and live, mainly cover songs, and then put it out,” says Nick Stumpf, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. “We don't have any friends, in this case, but the spirit is the same. With the exception of “Trouble,” which was recorded at the same time as the songs on the record and has overdubs, everything is completely live, and a few we figured out how to play on the spot just before we recorded them.

COVERS EP track listing:
“Trouble” (originally by Lindsey Buckingham)
“Questioningly” (originally by The Ramones)
“Caroline Goodbye” (originally by Colin Blunstone)
“Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” (originally by The Shirelles/written by Carole King)

French Kicks are soon to embark on a handful of headlining dates where they’ll be playing songs from their critically acclaimed sophomore Vagrant disc, Swimming. Pitchfork Media said “Thick with both a springtime twinkle and autumnal heartache, Swimming makes good on the band’s early promise” and Spin commented “inventive instrumental passages, rich harmonies, across-the-board emoting- French Kicks get both poppier and deeper.”

FRENCH KICKS headlining dates:
Sep 16 – Montreal, QC @ Il Motore
Sep 17 – Toronto, ON @ The Horseshoe
Sep 18 – Pontiac, MI @ The Pike Room
Sep 19 – Chicago, IL @ Double Door
Sep 20 – St. Louis, MO @ PLAY:stl Festival (Blueberry Hill Duck Room)
Sep 22 – Newport, KY @ Southgate House
Sep 23 – Pittsburgh, PA @ Rex Theatre

WARSHIP TO RELEASE SUPPLY AND DEPEND NOVEMBER 4

September 3, 2008 – WARSHIP announces a November 4, 2008 release date for their debut disc, Supply and Depend (Vagrant). The New York-based duo of Francis Mark (vocals, drums) and Rob Lauritsen (guitar, bass) wrote the 10 tracks featured on Supply and Depend earlier this year and recorded with producer Andrew Schneider (Pelican, Made Out Of Babies) over the summer.

“Even though Rob and I were in a band together for the past 3 years this is the first time we got to write together and it was explosive,” says Mark. “Things came together so quickly. It was like Rob had a vault of riffs he was waiting to open. I don't know what the future holds for us but I sure am enjoying myself right now and I am grateful to be able to share these songs with people. “

“Toil,” the lead track from Supply and Depend, is now streaming on www.myspace.com/mywarship and the album cover art by artist Brad Bacon has been posted there, as well.

MURDER BY DEATH ANNOUNCES HEADLINING FALL TOUR
7” Series Debut

“MBD kick up a storm of dirty, killer American rock” – Performing Songwriter

“…the album triumphs on the sheer energy of the band’s performances – every one of them swirling, unapologetic tours-de-force” - Paste Magazine

(August 25, 2008) - MURDER BY DEATH is pleased to announce their upcoming US fall tour. The Bloomington, Indiana quartet is performing several festival dates leading up to the October 22 start of their 28-date national tour and will also be launching a new 7” series where Murder By Death will be trading covers with other artists.

“Will Whitmore is an old friend of ours and we are really excited to be hitting the road together again,” said Adam Turla, singer, songwriter and guitarist of MBD. “The tour will be in support of a split 7" we have had in the works for a long time. On Side A of the 7" is MBD covering a William Elliott Whitmore song and on Side B, Whitmore covers a MBD song. This is a gonna be a great tour.”

A limited pressing will be made of the 7” and it will feature artwork by Drew James (who did the artwork for Who Will Survive). Copies will be available on the tour and a pre-order will begin September 15, only at www.murderbydeath.com.

In other touring news, due to the overwhelming response at last March’s MBD Chicago show, original band member Vincent Edwards will be playing piano at the Nov. 20th Chicago show at the Metro on November 20.

MBD’s fourth album and Vagrant debut, Red of Tooth and Claw (03/08), is rife with lust, betrayal, and classical archetypes of good and evil - as Turla puts it, a "Homer’s Odyssey of revenge, only without the honorable character at the center."

French Kicks Announce Fall Tour Dates

August 6 ‘Music At The Bridge’ Performance

The French Kicks have managed to wrestle free of typecasting to produce music that’s uncharacteristically sophisticated and upbeat.” – Vanity Fair

With catchy choruses, assured self-production, and lyrics that lean on nobody's pen, it won't be long before people start comparing other bands to French Kicks, instead of the other way around”—The Village Voice

(August 4, 2008) –French Kicks have just announced tour dates that begin September 16 in Montreal. The Brooklyn, NY-based band is also set to headline at the historic Tobacco Warehouse on August 6, as part of the ‘Music At The Bridge’ series.

French Kicks recently made a stop in Rock Island, Illinois to record four tracks from their sophomore Vagrant release, Swimming (05/08) in the Daytrotter Studio. The Daytrotter session can be heard at www.daytrotter.com/article/1336/french-kicks.

Produced and mixed entirely by the band, Swimming features some of the quartet’s most melodic recordings to date with standout tracks “Abandon”, “Said So What” and “Over To The World”. It is an album that demands your attention by revealing new sounds, notes and harmonies with each listen.

For vocalist/multi-instrumentalist, Nick Stumpf, Swimming is “by far the closest we’ve come to getting the sound we wanted.” By capturing both the palpable and raw elements, the French Kicks have created a complex yet sophisticated pop album.

MURDER BY DEATH ANNOUNCE HEADLINING TOUR

Red Of Tooth And Claw Out March 4th

February 15, 2008 – MURDER BY DEATH today announce the first leg of a national headlining tour that begins in their hometown of Bloomington, IN on March 27th. The quartet hits the road next week opening for Clutch and will be releasing their Vagrant full-length, Red of Tooth and Claw on March 4, 2008.

Red Of Tooth And Claw finds Murder By Death at the height of their powers. Recorded with Grammy-winning producer Trina Shoemaker (Queens Of The Stone Age, Emmylou Harris, Iggy Pop) at Dark Horse studios in Tennessee, the album captures the drama and nuance of MBD’s sound without compromising a lick of the band’s energy. And as longtime followers of their narrative grit—equal parts Old West drama and Old Testament justice—will be glad to know, MBD’s subject matter also hasn’t softened for album No. 4. Rife with lust, betrayal, and classical archetypes of good and evil, Red Of Tooth And Claw is, as singer/guitarist Adam Turla puts it, a “Homer’s Odyssey of revenge, only without the honorable character at the center.”

MBD’s Fuego! EP was released earlier this week through all digital providers and includes the title track along with a live version of “My Baby Shot Me Down” and an extended version of “Theme (for Ennio Morricone).”

Murder By Death is: Turla, Sarah Balliet (cello, keys), Matt Armstrong (bass), and drummer Dagan Thogerson.
